A squirrel is a medium-sized burrowing rodent that grows up to 8" to 10" long with a busy tail up to 6 1/2" inches in length. Squirrels are of stocky build, and color varies depending on the species ranging from brownish-gray to reddish-brown with a cream-colored underside.
